    WHY DO YOU WHAT YOU DO?
    Nine out of ten women don't know what's inside their tampons, bandages & co. That's no wonder, because manufacturers don't have to specify the ingredients. We think that’s impossible. Women must have the right to know what they put in the most sensitive part of their body. That is why MYLILY is completely transparent.

    We are also committed to body positivity, the empowerment of women, sustainability and enlightenment, and to making sure that menstruation is no longer a taboo!

    We talk about it loudly. With this we want to achieve that from now on no woman has to be ashamed of buying tampons or bandages and that period products can be passed on from woman to woman without secrecy. 

    SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU BEEN DEALING WITH THE TOPIC OF SUSTAINABILITY?
    Sustainability and transparency are the principles on which MYLILY was founded. A woman needs an average of 18,000 tampons and other hygiene products in her life. That is quite a lot. Plastic, which is found in many conventional products, takes them around 500 years to rot completely. This is quite a burden for our environment. MYLILY tampons, panty liners and bandages are made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton:

    WAS THERE A PERSONAL KEY MOMENT?
    We can't remember a specific key moment, sustainability is a matter of course for us. But it must also suit our personal everyday life and circumstances. That's why we don't just have cups, but also organic tampons, bandages and panty liners. So every woman can decide for herself.

    WHAT HAS CHANGED IN YOUR LIFESTYLE SINCE YOU DECIDED TO FOUND MYLILY?
    As a founder with little time and budget, you unfortunately find out that sustainability is not so easy. But we try to integrate it into small and big things. Of course, as a company we also pay attention to it holistically, use all packaging materials a second time, avoid unnecessary transport and distribution channels and our coffee machine can only do organic, too.

    DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONVINCE OTHER PEOPLE TO BUY AND LIVE MORE SUSTAINBLY?
    Absolutely. We think organic, fair & sustainable should not be outstanding product characteristics, but a matter of course. If a product does not have "organic" or "fair" as the only great feature, but also looks appealing, works as expected and fits into people's everyday lives, then it will convinc. Every day we receive feedback that women want to do something good for themselves and the environment, so they like to use our products. That's the best proof!

    WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM THE FASHION INDUSTRY AND THE CONSUMERS IN THE FUTURE?
    We hope that consumers will give more thought to what is in products and how they are made. #Machdirgedanken (“Think about it”) is actually a hashtag that we often use in our communication. It's not about a kind of competition about who ultimately lives more sustainably, but rather about a general attitude. Because this is also close to our hearts:

    no matter if team cup or team tampon. We have a sustainable variant for every woman.
