It all started with the shared Serbian roots of Jelena Hofmann and Sedina Halilovic. The two Munich natives got to know each other at high school. During her business studies, Jelena then worked as a model for German labels such as Strenesse and Talbot Runhof. She was fascinated by working with designers and product managers, especially working with Johnny Talbot and Adrian Runhof had a great impact on her.
Her love for fashion and desire to express her own image of women and her personality inspired her to start a label together with Sedina. Immediately after graduating, they launched the label HolyGhost.

The renaming to Mykke Hofmann followed in 2017, Mykke Hofmann is modern, timeless and super wearable. With a clear focus on design and most importantly sustainability. The straight, clean look is sharp and focused. Flowing fabrics, feminine X-silhouettes and asymmetries are recurring elements. The vision: customers should feel feminine and independent at the same time.

But not only the customer should feel strong, but also the women who make the clothes. Since 2017, Mykke Hofmann has its own factory in Serbia with 15 employees.

At Mykke Hofmann's own production facility is located in Serbia.

The label uses only certified organic cotton, Eco Vero viscose, Lyocell from Lenzing and Bemberg Cupro, as well as linen and some new age fabrics. Polyester and plastic are avoided, as well as silk or classic viscose. The other ingredients are also very important to Jelena: the sewing interfacings are made of Eco Vero viscose, and the yarns are always made of Lyocell. Only for buttons and zippers Mykke Hofmann is not yet 100% plastic-free. By 2023, the company wants to find a solution for that, too. When it comes to packaging and shipping, they rely on compostable bags.
With their own factory near Belgrade in Serbia, they have full control over production and can guarantee fair working conditions. In addition to their own products, they also produce for other brands. Important: They only produce for real sustainable brands.
